Overview of EZines and Article Directories

One of the cheapest and most lasting method of developing internet traffic is through posting well written content articles and providing back links to your website and author credits to your identity. Over time they will remain in place and continue to grow your presence as the content remains relevant.  Submitting to targeted ezines and directory services can be a good way to build a following for yourself while adding value to the publisher site. Win-win for everyone.

Here are the major reasons you should write and submit articles to ezines and article directories:

1.Article Directory and Ezine Exposure – A good on-line publisher is networked in heavily with the search engines so if you submit articles that are considered timely for certain key words with solid content, it makes it much easier to get higher rankings in the search engines than with a private blog or site. Ezine publishers may be looking for an article in a certain niche and go to these article directories in order to find an article in that niche. When they publish your article, the credit and link goes to your site.

2. Personal Credibility – Better to be an expert in some things rather than mediocre in everything.  By selecting a niche and providing valueable content for others it helps to create real credibility for yourself with readers and publishers within  a niche. Over time, people will regard you as knowledgeable  and  seek out your expertise on you subjects.   You will be seen as an expert in your field if your articles are well regarded and you may get special treatment by the article directory owners and ezine publishers.

3. RSS – Many article directories today offer RSS feeds for each of their categories. When a reader makes your article available through a RSS feed,  your URL is published for anyone reading the article to see. Someone with a website may need niche content for the particular topic of interest to their readership and rather than write their copy they use a topical RSS feed which has your articles and bylines attached. It helps them create value for their readers and it promotes the writer as a thought leader on that topic.

4.Personal  Blog Exposure -As your article posts grow so will the links to your website and as the search engine recognizes your multiple postings with links all leading to you, it makes your personal blog or site rank higher too.

5. Long-term Archiving – If your articles remain timely and continue to receive hits, they will remain in the directory and available by search on category or your name, making it easy for publishers and others to find articles that you have written and you become known as knowledgeable in the particular niche. Articles with your contact information will add up and create more back links

to your site which the search engines respect as a sign of popularity.

6. Key word and Search Capability -Search engines rule and they are looking for relevant content for what their users are seeking. The way they work is through key words and the best way to lay out the bread crumbs for the search engines to find you is with valuable content focused on the same key words or phrases that people are search on.  So the keywords can be in the tags, titles and body of the article but it isn’t that simple. Relative density, related keywords and overall valued content needs to be considered. The days of stuffing keywords in generic articles or, worst yet, html tags are long gone. So learn how to do it well or you could be banned or labeled spam.

Hi, I'm Teresa Farrell, an online marketing coach and network marketing leader who has been involved in entrepreneurial pursuits since 1997. Prior to that I provided management consulting services to Fortune 200 companies in the telco, tech, bio-tech and mass retail sectors. I loved the work because it was solutions oriented and required constant learning and skills upgrade. You couldn't sit still for a moment. After 20 years, the constant travel became too much and I longed for a simpler life. I found it in the Pacific Northwest. Its a great place to live but most of the paying jobs are a 1 -2 hour commute away so part of the plan was to create my own income. I evaluated several business models and ruled out anything with a storefront or employees immediately. I wanted to freedom of cash flow and did not want to have more obligations than absolutely necessary. Next, I evaluated franchises, B-to-B services, product distributorships or brokerages. I ruled out most of them because again they required large capital investments in merchandise and facility and I wanted to limit my exposure as a start up. I had seen the percentages of inventory write-offs and did not want to create a volume business to offset the write-offs. I found a couple of consulting franchises that made sense. 1. I was a seasoned consultant and felt comfortable in that arena, 2. I felt if they had the products or services of value, I could promote, sell and implement them, and 3. I really liked the idea of being part of a larger brand and support community. So after several years of free-lancing, I purchased a franchise as a web service consultancy for small and medium sized companies. Big mistake. I wound up paying royalties to someone for a job and getting very little in return. Anyway, I learned a great deal from the 2 years I stayed with that business and I gained confidence and clarity about what I really wanted to do with my life, now that it was totally my decision. I loved the internet. I loved problem solving. I loved consulting and coaching others. As I grew in my on-line abilities, I was introduced to network marketing and developed a supporting income from both activities. Over the past several years I have been amazed and excited to see my two vocations of choice merge and actually emerge as a powerful new economic model. You can become wealthy with little at risk compared to the past models of entrepreneurship. More importantly, ordinary people can create a debt free financial stability for themselves and others in this industry by learning the new skills and applying them thoughtfully with integrity. The outcomes are directly correlated with the level of effort. I love that! It is never too late to get started and now is the best time to start because it is very new - the integration of internet marketing, attraction marketing and network marketing. With the right focus and mentoring, a person can completely change their financial picture in a short period of time. In addition to my marketing work, I provide fund raising assistance to several non profit organizations and consulting services to small businesses. I relocated from New York City to the rural Olympic Peninsula and enjoy connecting with family, friends and business associates around the world clicking from my keyboard.
